I met @ericreyesdesign in 1988 when @saltracerbob and I drug my freshly painted (by me) #dragster up to #haywardca to have this unfamiliar-to-me #paintslinger work his magic. "Stick Man" and his #supergas #boxnova caught my eye on the pages of #nationaldragster because of his cutting-edge letttering, prompting me to forgo the the veterans with who I was familiar...#tomstratton, #stevestanford, #dennisjones, #tomkelly, #stevefeinberg - and take a chance with this #greenhorn. Well, besides driving home from #fremontdragstrip that weekend with a bad-ass lettering and striping job - I inherited a soul brother. Pictured is Reyes' Xmas gift to me...an original expression of our #brotherhood, a #melborn scoop embellished by the #master.

Since I'm now a #socal to #norcal transplant, I had to get my hands on legendary #dragracing photographer Steve Reyes' photo book 'Northern California Drag Racing'. Unreal historical depiction of 1950s, '60s and '70s weekend assaults on Salinas, Fremont, Lodi, Half Moon Bay and many other local tracks.
Lots of #badass friends & customers - like Bill Dunlap, Tom Walsh, Davey Uyehara, Carl Olson, John Shoemaker, John Batto and more - are the stars of this #stevereyes bible.

I wish I could say, "This ain't my first Rodeo!"..

I wish I could say, "This ain't my first Rodeo!"...because It actually was. Spending a great time with wifey @mrs.arias3rd here @ the National Finals Rodeo and #cowboychristmas in #lasvegas. Certainly not her first and definitely not my last 🐴💕.
