New addiction = New project. Never did pay much attention to #windmills or their usefulness until I moved from the city two years ago to the #ranchlands of Aromas. Not familiar with the inner workings of the "motor"...my #mechanicalmind was blown 😵‍💫 when I discovered these things have a #reciprocating gearbox assembly which provides the pumping action. All cast iron, with poured #babbittbearings and an ingenious drip/splash #oilsystem. Same basic design from 1888 is still being manufactured and used today!
Took me about three months of research to acquire my first, an Aermotor A702 with 8 foot wheel and 28' tower. This baby was manufactured in July of #1933 in #chicago and resided in #guindacalifornia. Next up is laying out the concrete pad for mounting a pump for aerating the #duckpond🦆🪿🐢
